Eric tailors his sessions to the individual needs of clients and the issues they bring to therapy. That said, his work with clients is shaped by several therapeutic approaches.

  • Strengths Focused – Eric seeks to build on existing strengths in individuals and relationships, so that clients can be affirmed in what is working and move forward into greater health.
  • Family Systems – Eric’s work is based in an understanding that complex family systems deeply shape our humanity, but don’t have to define us or our outcomes.
  • Emotionally Focused – Eric sees that our deepest drives to 1) connect with others 2) protect ourselves, often conflict and drive us to behave in ways that surprise even us.
  • Narrative – Eric believes we are formed deeply by the stories we tell ourselves and that there can be great healing in rewriting those stories.
